Sheppard East LRT Plan

Sheppard East Village continues to be served by good TTC bus service on five major roads – Midland, Brimley, McCowan, Markham and Sheppard.  The new LRT trams will

be introduced in 2013 and will connect with the buses on the 4 north-south streets.

Sewers and water mains will be replaced and Hydro will move poles to accommodate street widening. Gas, telephone and other utilities will move their assets buried in the boulevards beside the road. Sheppard Avenue will be widened and the LRT right-of-way, tracks, stops and power lines will then be built down the middle of the road.

TTC officials assure us there will be adequate advance warning of their construction activities; driveway access to all businesses will be maintained; customers will know businesses are open during construction; and work will occur on short sections of road so it can be completed quickly and efficiently.

SEV BIA representatives are meeting with senior management from the City, TTC and Metrolinx and hope our efforts with these decision-makers will help to ensure that the LRT is properly planned and construction will be completed with minimum disruption to the residents, traffic flows and businesses along the Sheppard corridor.
